Sport karate is the application of martial arts techniques in a competitive tournament environment.  A competitor can participate in a variety of forms and sparring competitions.  Students in the class should first participate in the martial arts program and possibly the extreme martial arts program to form a strong foundation. However, there are often extra classes scheduled for tournament practice. Pictured below are Dalton, Cameron, and Roc. Pic is from a NFMAA tournament where Dalton (15) and Cameron (16) moved up to the 18 and over black belt division. They ALL placed 1st in their respective weight classes (Heavy, Light, and Middle)! Cameron also injured his wrist in a quarterfinals match (later discovered it was fractured), yet he went on to win the Overall Title in the finals too!
